歌词
[Verse 1]
The shadows stretch across the jagged hill
The air is cold, the city's heart is still
A crown of thorns, a robe of deepest red
The weight of worlds is resting on Your head
With every step upon the stone and sand
The road of grace was written by Your hand.
[Verse 2]
You saw my face amidst the angry crowd
You heard my silence when the world was loud
For every debt that I could never pay
You walked the path to take my sins away
Oh, rugged cross, where mercy met the knife
The Giver gave His breath to give us life.
[Chorus]
Oh, the love of Golgotha, so deep and wide
A crimson river from a Savior’s side
Unmeasured mercy, unexhausted grace
The light of heaven on a suffering face
Higher than the stars, deeper than the sea
The love of Golgotha has set me free!
[Verse 3]
The nails were driven for the pride of man
But Love was holding to the Father’s plan
The sun was hidden, darkness filled the sky
As Life Himself was laid aside to die
"It is finished," echoed through the night
Turning our shadows into everlasting light.
[Bridge]
No greater love has ever been known!
You left the splendor of Your golden throne!
To take the thorns, to bear the shame
To write in blood my brand new name!
Death is defeated! The veil is torn!
Out of the grave, a hope is born!
[Grand Climax]
OH, THE LOVE! THE SACRIFICE!
YOU PAID THE GLORIOUS, HOLY PRICE!
THE CROSS STANDS TALL, THE TOMB IS LOW
YOUR MERCY IS ALL I NEED TO KNOW!
GOLGOTHA! GOLGOTHA!
WHERE LOVE WON THE WAR FOREVERMORE!
[Final Chorus]
Oh, the love of Golgotha, so deep and wide
A crimson river from a Savior’s side
Unmeasured mercy, unexhausted grace
The light of heaven on a suffering face.
[Outro]
I am covered by the blood...
I am carried by the love...
Golgotha’s love...
Amen.
