Lyrics
INTRO
In the silence of the night
When the world is filled with fear
Heaven hears the cries of hearts
Calling out through every tear
VERSE 1
Cities shaking in the dark
Children hiding from the sound
Broken homes and shattered dreams
Tears are falling to the ground
But above the storm and sorrow
Above the pain we see
There is still a faithful God
Who hears every plea
PRE-CHORUS
When the nations are divided
And the world feels torn apart
We lift our voices up to heaven
From the depths of every heart
CHORUS
God, we pray for peace tonight
Let Your mercy calm the war
Let Your light break through the darkness
Like the dawn forevermore
Heal the nations, heal the land
Let Your love restore our world
Father hear our cry for mercy
Let Your healing be unfurled
VERSE 2
Across the borders and the oceans
Across every wounded land
Millions praying for tomorrow
Holding hope in trembling hands
Every language, every nation
Every tribe and every race
Looking to the sky for mercy
Looking for Your saving grace
PRE-CHORUS
When the hatred grows around us
And the fear begins to rise
We remember You are faithful
You are hope that never dies
CHORUS
God, we pray for peace tonight
Let Your mercy calm the war
Let Your light break through the darkness
Like the dawn forevermore
Heal the nations, heal the land
Let Your love restore our world
Father hear our cry for mercy
Let Your healing be unfurled
BRIDGE
Let the weapons fall in silence
Let forgiveness lead the way
Let compassion rise like sunlight
Bringing hope to every day
Turn the hearts of every leader
Turn the hearts of every soul
Let the world remember mercy
Let Your love make broken whole
FINAL CHORUS
God, we pray for peace tonight
Let the guns and hatred cease
Let the tears of every mother
Be replaced with lasting peace
Heal the nations, heal the land
Let Your love restore our world
Father hear our cry for mercy
Let Your healing be unfurled
OUTRO
And when the morning light is rising
Over every scarred land
May the world remember mercy
And the power of Your hand
