Lyrics
[Verse 1]
The judgment hall was silent, the accusations loud
The Maker of the universe, standing in the crowd
No defense was spoken, no anger in Your eyes
Like a sheep before the shearers, the perfect sacrifice (Isaiah 53:7)
You took the heavy timber, You walked the dusty road
To carry all our failures beneath that crushing load.
[Pre-Chorus]
Every step a choice of love, every breath a prayer
For the ones who struck Your back, for the ones who put You there.
[Chorus]
BEHOLD THE LAMB! The Lamb of God!
Who takes away the sins of the world! (John 1:29)
The blood is shed, the price is paid
The foundation of our hope is laid!
Behold the cross, behold the King
Let every broken heart now sing!
[Verse 2]
The midday sun surrendered, the sky turned into night
The old covenant was passing within that fading light
Upon the wooden altar, the final breath was drawn
The darkest hour of history just before the dawn.
[Pre-Chorus]
Every drop of falling blood, a river of new grace
Washing over history, covering our race!
[Chorus]
BEHOLD THE LAMB! The Lamb of God!
Who takes away the sins of the world!
The blood is shed, the price is paid
The foundation of our hope is laid!
Behold the cross, behold the King
Let every broken heart now sing!
[Bridge]
And then the earth began to shake!
The heavy stones began to break!
Inside the temple, top to down
The heavy veil was torn in two! (Matthew 27:51)
The Holy Place is open wide!
No more distance, nowhere to hide!
We have access to the throne!
Because You walked that road alone!
[Final Chorus]
BEHOLD THE LAMB! THE LAMB OF GOD!
WHO TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD!
THE VEIL IS TORN, THE WAY IS CLEAR!
PERFECT LOVE HAS CAST OUT FEAR!
BEHOLD THE CROSS, BEHOLD THE KING!
LET EVERY BROKEN HEART NOW SING!
[Outro]
The veil is torn...
We can come inside...
Behold the Lamb...
Thank you, Jesus.
